Transferring your existing website to new hosting is fairly straightforward. If you are switching your hosting to us, we do everything for you!
Check Your Domain Name
Your domain name should be owned by and registered to you (or to your business). It is common, however, to find that your existing web developer or hosting company actually has registered the ownership of your domain name to themselves. If this is the case, we will arrange the legal transfer of the domain name(s) to your ownership and control asap.
Backup Your Site
A complete backup of all your website files and databases needs to be taken. To do this we will need admin access to your CMS (Wordpress, Joomla!, Opencart or other), and usually access to your existing Hosting Control Panel and/or FTP. Your exiting provider should be able to provide these details.
Archive Your Emails
If your existing hosting provider includes email accounts, you should backup or archive all your emails before your site is transferred. This can be done through your email client such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird.
